The Evertwisting Story of Dawn Sandow - Bronx GOP

The ever twisting story of Dawn Sandow – Bronx GOP

Excerpts from New York Post article about Dawn Sandow - September 3, 2006

Now, records show the new deputy chief clerk voted in The Bronx in 2004 while receiving mail in Rockland County.
Before joining the board, Dawn Sandow Rahaniotis worked in Steve Kaufman's state Senate race and got campaign checks on July 24, 2004, and Aug. 16, 2004, in New City, 30 miles north of The Bronx.
It's against the law to vote in a jurisdiction you don't live in. Sandow said that she spent "a couple of months" in New City that year trying to patch up a shaky marriage but that she otherwise lived with her mom in The Bronx.
The checks went to Rockland County, she said, because of confusion over her married and maiden names. "I wasn't getting a lot of my mail," she said.
In 2005, she said, she moved to New City, registered to vote there but returned to The Bronx.

Excerpts from the Daily News article about Dawn Sandow – September 11, 2006

Ravitz, who is a Republican, said Sandow had moved to Rockland County with her husband in 2004 and had registered to vote there. Her marriage subsequently fell apart, and she returned to the Bronx in 2005 and reregistered there. She did not vote either in Rockland County or in the Bronx in 2005.

In the Daily News Article, John Ravitz, Executive Director for the New York City Board of Elections says that Dawn Sandow has worked for the Bronx board as an administrative associate, at a salary of $50,000, for a little more than six months. At the request of the Bronx Republican Party, now headed by Joseph (Jay) Savino, Ravitz said the city board approved her promotion to the $76,489-a-year Bronx deputy chief job, effective Wednesday, succeeding Victor Tosi, who retired. Not true about what John Ravitz said, Dawn Sandow began working at the Bronx Board of Elections in November of 2005, from that date to now, it is ten months total. And she did not start at $50,000 a year, Dawn Sandow started at a payrate of $ 40,021. Now Ravitz stated she received a promotion to Deputy Chief Clerk of the Bronx Board of Elections at a payrate of $ 76,489 a year. Not true, this was Victor Tosi’s payrate, Dawn’s predecessor; Dawn Sandow’s new payrate is $ 82,500 a year. What a jump in pay!! Also Dawn Sandow was an administrative associate, that was her civil service title, he office title was as a supervisor. Recently Jay Savino’s friend Anthony J. Ribustello took over Dawn’s previous job when she got promoted to Deputy Chief Clerk. See website:

John Ravitz, Dawn Sandow are not telling the truth, this is a coverup. She does not live in the Bronx and she is bound by residency requirements by NYC civil service law. To be employed by the City of New York, you must be a resident of one of the 5 boroughs. She is lying to the public, and it is the public that is paying her salary through their taxes.
